Obituary of Alice Eva Ouellette

It is with great sadness the family of Alice Eva Ouellette, of Carleton Kirk Nursing Lodge, wish to announce her passing on Sunday August 16, 2020.Born in Rogersville in 1933, she was a daughter of the late Aubain and Anna (Arsenault) Despres. Alice was the widow of the late Enoil Ouellette. Alice worked at the DVA Hospital, and the Regional Hospital in the Dietary Department for many years, retiring in 1995. Alice was very strong in her faith, she was a long time member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, She was previously part of the Pastoral Care Staff serving at Carleton Kirk Lodge in her later years. Alice belonged to the Third Order of St. Francis, Club Arc-en-Ciel, the BVM Society, and the Irving Retirees Club. Alice volunteered at the Westside Food Bank for 17 years, She loved to attend the Hospice BBQ, and also the Assumption Breakfast. She was an avid Quilter and loved to do crafts and was an expert Auction 45’s card player. Alice is survived by three sons, Robert (Susan) Ouellette, of Saint John, N.B., Norman (Diane) Ouellette, of Hampton, N.B., Roger (Margie) Ouellette, of Saint John, N.B., one daughter, Dianne (Graham) Tugwell, of Quispamsis, N.B., three sisters, Aline Gaudet, of Saint John, N.B., Theresa Marchand, of Halifax, N.S., Jean (Donald) MacDonald, of Irishtown, N.B., nine Grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one sister in law, Mary Ann Keleher, of Saint John, N.B. several nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her parents, and her husband Enoil Ouellette, Three sisters, Germain Benoit, Emily Tracey,and Aldona Gautreau . A special thanks to all the Staff At Carleton Kirk Nursing Lodge for their Care and Compassion shown to our Mother Alice during her time there. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). A visitation will take place on Wednesday from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held from Our Lady of Assumption Church on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 12 o’clock. A private family Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will be held at Castle Funeral Home following the funeral Mass.
