Obituary of A. Stuart Emery

Alban Stuart Emery, 1930-2015, son of the late Alban Schofield Emery and Catherine Maude (Blakeslee) Emery of Saint John, NB. Stuart was a graduate of SJHS, continuing his academic studies at Mt. Allison in Finance and Commerce. He began his career with British American Oil, Saint John, NB. He continued his finance career in Ontario at the Ottawa and Ft. Erie racetracks, working closely with RCMP. The remainder of his career was in Toronto as a Securities Transfer Tax Auditor for the Ontario Government. In the 1970’s, he was the President of the Toronto Branch of OPSEU. Upon retirement, he returned to NB. During his life, he did his utmost to protect and preserve the legacy of his father’s craftsmanship, his father being one of the prominent furniture makers of the Eastern Seaboard, early to middle 20th century. Stuart was a motorcycle enthusiast, owning Harley Davidsons. He was a member of the American Motorcyclist Association. Besides his parents, Stuart is predeceased by his stepmother Myrtle (Waring) McKean Emery, his stepsister Mary K. McKean, and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by several cousins. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Thurs. Oct. 15, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church (115 Charlotte St, Saint John) on Fri. Oct. 16, 2015 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow in the Bennett Room. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in Stuart’s memory can be made to Trinity Fabric Fund or the charity of one’s choice. Flowers are welcome.The family requests a scent free environment
