Obituary of June Denise Clark

It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of June Denise Clark, wife of the late Dr. Stephen D. Clark which occurred Thursday January 8, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Saskatoon, SK in 1917 she was the daughter of the late Thomas & Martha Power. In 1941, June graduated from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, PQ as a Registered Nurse. Upon moving to Saint John she supported her husband in his family practice. June spent many years as a volunteer with several organizations such as Friends of Hospice and YWCA. She enjoyed many happy summers with her family at Sand Point on the Saint John River. June is survived by: daughters Mary Jane (Robert) Young of Seattle, WA, Barbara (Malcolm Bostwick) Clark of Grand Bay- Westfield, NB, and Deborah (Andrew Brewin) Clark of Ottawa, ON; son Stephen A.W. Clark of Saint John, NB; son-in-law Richard Smith of Saint John, NB; sister Faye Cousins of Surrey, BC; grandchildren Melinda, Andrea, Mark, Regan, Bronwen, Drew, and Christopher; and 7 great grandsons. Besides her parents, June was predeceased by daughter Faye Smith; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Sunday January 11, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Monday January 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Castle Funeral Home Chapel. A private family Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in June’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice, St. Mark’s United Church or to the charity of one’s choice. June had a long well lived life and she will be deeply missed by her family & friends.
