Obituary of Fernand A. Martin

Surrounded by his family Fernand Albert Martin passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 11, 2016 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born February 28, 1945 he was the son of the late Aldrick and Rose (Deschene) Martin. Fernand was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Samuel de Champlain Council he was heavily involved in his community, an avid fisherman and hunter. Fernand worked for 47 years for JDI as a manager at CFM and he loved to volunteer. Fernand was a loving father who loved spending time with his family including his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He loved his guitar and enjoyed singing at family gatherings, he always had the crowd going. Fernand will be forever remembered by loving wife of 53 years Murielle Martin; sons Michael (Jessie) Martin and Tommy Martin both of Saint John, NB; daughters Shelly (Gary) Savoury of Paradise, NL and Tammy Martin of Saint John, NB; brothers Roland Martin, Bertrand Martin and Gerald Martin; sisters Fernande Martin, Velma Mazerolle, Florence Berube’, Bertha Martin; 5 grandchildren Matt, Chelsi, Edmond, Mecah, Isabelle; 1 great-grandchild Charlie; several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be help on Thursday October 13 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Franscois-de-Sales Catholic Church(77 Ragged Point Rd) on Friday October 14, 2016 at 11:00am. In Lieu of flowers donations in Fernand’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
