Obituary of Mary Gogan

Mary Alice Gogan wife of Francis Gogan of Saint John, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13th, 2014 at Bobby’s Hospice, with her loving family at her side. Born in Saint John on October 9th, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Edna (Finley) Smith. In addition to Francis, her husband of 60 years, Mary is survived by her sons Robert Gogan (Heather), Bruce Gogan, (Brenda), daughters; Lynn Rogers, Darlene Murphy (Gary), sister Margaret Gogan (late Michael), all of Saint John, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by brothers Theodore and Charles and sisters; Bessie, Bertha, Olga and Frances. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, with visitation on Tuesday, September 16th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christion Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church on Wednesday, September 17th, at 12 o’clock, followed by Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. A reception for Mary’s friends and family will be held at the Denis Morris Community Center, Greenhead Road. Memorial donations made to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Bobby’s Hospice for the exceptional care Mary received.
